IN GOOD SHAPE

In addition to serious views and a prime location near Wiggins Pass, this high-rise condo in North Naples’ Aqua at Pelican Isle boasts strong architectural detail and clean, sleek lines for a feel that Kelli J. Smith of Kelli Interior Design Studio calls “dramatic, modern and refreshing.” 

Here, Smith created classic geometrical partitions to divide the living room from the dining room and enhanced them with glass and mirrors to maintain the openness of the floor plan. To play off the neutral background, Smith utilized textured materials and hints of bright aqua and citrine.

HIGH SHINE

Smith also designed a custom built-in in the family room to create a small office space that wraps around the fireplace for a feature that is both attractive and functional. The basketweave stone Smith selected follows with her affinity for textures to enhance a space.

CENTER OF ATTENTION

Clean, contemporary cabinets and countertops characterize the unit’s kitchen, but it’s the edgy crystal pendant and oversized island that draw the most attention. “It’s all about that light fixture,” Smith says. “Since the kitchen is the center of the home in the floor plan, I wanted something that would add a lot of visual impact.”

ROUND TABLE

Smith’s goal for this sitting area was to create a cozy, inviting and casual space for entertaining and relaxing—without detracting from the view. The aqua leather-wrapped chairs, created by New York-based interior designer Thom Filicia, are the focal point of the otherwise largely neutral space.

CALM DOWN

In the master bedroom, Smith selected a soothing color palette of aqua blues and neutral creams and beiges offset by faux ostrich bedding for a dose of texture. Custom ceiling details add visual interest without taking away from exterior views of the Gulf.
