NAPLES, FL (August 2007) –
A woman in Fort Myers is on a mission to turn around the local affordable
housing crisis with a project that will change the lives of more than 500
families—and she’s only 31 years old. A man who tripled the membership of one of
the area’s leading business organizations and received a key to the city of
Bonita Springs is just 28. Gulfshore Business magazine is honoring these and other young business leaders in Southwest Florida as this year’s 40 under 40. The winners were featured in the September issue of Gulfshore Business, which hits newsstands this week. In its fifth year, Gulfshore Business’ 40 under 40 celebrates local professionals under 40 years old who have distinguished themselves in business and their communities. This year’s winners were selected from a record number of nominations. “We had outstanding nominees this year with impressive professional and philanthropic accomplishments,” said editor Jill Tyrer. “It might have made the selection process a little more difficult, but showed that Southwest Florida has a wealth of talented and caring young professionals. The region’s future is in capable hands, and Gulfshore Business is proud to recognize these leaders.” The rising stars in the 2007 class range in age from 25 to 39 and demonstrate the region’s diverse workforce—from doctors and executives to entrepreneurs carving their own path. A complete list of the winners accompanies this release. Gulfshore Business will celebrate the 2007 40 under 40 winners at an awards presentation and exclusive party in September.
