One of the first vitreo-retinal specialists in Southwest Florida, Dr. Wing specializes in clinical research and the treatment of macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and other vitreo-retinal problems. He earned his M.D. degree in 1975 from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. He completed Fellowship training at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary of Harvard Medical School, and studied with Charles L. Schepens, M.D., founder of The Schepens Eye Research Institute, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Wing has practiced at Retina Consultants of Southwest Florida since 1982, and is an Adjunct Associate Clinical Scientist at The Schepens Eye Research Institute, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School. He also is the Medical Director of the National Ophthalmic Research Institute (NORI), and past president of The Schepens International Society, in addition to his medical practice.
Dr. Wing is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association and multiple other professional organizations.
