My hubby is smitten with the idea of having his own urinal since seeing one inside the his portion of a double master bath in a model home years ago. He even remembers the brand: Toto. Turns out he’s ahead of his time (He also claims to have invented “booyah” and re-introduced “cat” into the American vernacular, as in “That guy’s a cool cat.”). Urinals, according to Lenora Campos, Toto’s senior manager of PR and branding, are a “burgeoning trend,” popular in master baths with dedicated water closets or separate his-and-her baths. “Men crave the convenience, and women appreciate the cleanliness and water savings," Campos says.

Urinals use about half a gallon of water per flush and Toto’s Lloyd model, about $1,200, can be upgraded with an electronic flush valve. Seems simple enough (as long as it’s mounted at proper height).

Toto's Lloyd urninal uses much less water than a typical toilet, making it good for the environment.
