Style File: Spectacular Specs from Warby Parker
Everyone seems to be wearing these fabulous modernized takes on classic styled glasses.
Editor's note: Zack didn't know this when he submitted this blog or these photos, but the two pairs of glasses seen on the bottom row above are the two pairs of Warby Parkers his editor wears at work every day.
Everyone is wearing glasses whether they need to or not. From Brooklyn hipsters to NBA superstars, spectacles are the new must-have accessories. I was visiting a lawyer friend of mine and noticed, once again, he had another new pair of glasses. Per usual, they were a chic classic with a twist.
He had gotten this new pair, a pair of sunglasses, as well as the others I had been thinking of pocketing when he turned to answered the phone, from Warby Parker, an independent eyewear company that has been making waves for the past few years. I visited the Warby Parker store in New York (they also have retail locations in Boston; Chicago; Philadelphia; Richmond, Va.; Nashville; Oklahoma City, Los Angeles and Miami) and fell in love with at least a half dozen frames of their relatively inexpensive frames. (Most start at around $100 including prescription lenses.)
The best part is no matter where you live you can shop on the web and they will send you up to five pairs to try on for free. Or you can upload your own picture and try them on virtually on their website. Also as added incentive, and a beautiful idea, when you purchase a pair of glasses they give a pair of glasses to someone in need.
Have fun. Try them all on. They are wonderful. Pick something beautiful. After all, it’s your face. warbyparker.com
