2 New Restaurants Headed to Mercato

They’re hip, have big fan bases in other cities and are scheduled to launch this fall.

When changes are afoot in Mercato, a Naples development with a knack for attracting heavy-hitters in the restaurant and entertainment worlds, we can’t help but be intrigued. Several high-profile departures in the past year had us worried; however, they wound up paving the way for two huge new arrivals.

The eateries are both scheduled to make their debut this fall, likely November, according to Mercato’s marketing team, and they’re from independent restaurateurs with a proven track record in other markets.

Rocco’s Tacos, a small Florida-based chain with a reputation for lively nights fueled by top-shelf tequila (to wit, its website has a prominent Cinco de Mayo countdown clock), will take over the vacated Masa space across from The Pub. And flowing into the McCormick & Schmick’s that closed on April 1 is another seafood-centric restaurant, The Hampton Social. Already a hit in Chicago’s River North with three other locations in and around the city, the coastal-chic eatery channels the vibe of New York’s summer vacation set.

Stay tuned for more details.
