True Food Kitchen

At this oasis of healthful, plant-based eating in the Waterside Shops, offerings range from miso-glazed eggplant with pesto, to tahini-slicked roasted cauliflower with dates and fresh mint, to ancient grains topped with sautéed veggies in teriyaki sauce.

Vegan Kitchen

As the name implies, this new restaurant on U.S. 41 in Naples’ Park Shore area is an exclusive no-animal-product zone. But when it comes to taste, you wouldn’t be aware of the limits. Vegetables take center stage, but you can experiment with meat substitutes like tofu and seitan in quite a few entrees.

21 Spices by Chef Asif

Most Indian restaurants are not vegetarian, per se, but cuisine from regions of the subcontinent relies heavily on the Earth’s bounty. To celebrate, owner Asif Syed has teamed with his new neighbor, Rachid Eido of Kareem’s Lebanese Kitchen, to host an organic, vegan buffet in his restaurant on the East Trail on April 22 from noon to 2 p.m. (both eateries will feature their regular menus at dinner).

The Local

The menu is varied and the owner has a penchant for Palmetto Creek Farms pork, but the majority of the dishes at this Pine Ridge eatery are greens-and-grains-focused or can be prepared meatless. As a reward for anyone who stops by in honor of Earth Day, each person will receive a complimentary vegan and gluten-free brownie, with or without a scoop of house-made organic vanilla ice cream, for a truly sweet ending.
