There’s a New Spirit in Town

It’s all about the Benjamins.

BY August 11, 2017

It’s on the bottle. It’s in the name. It’s in its DNA.

C Note Vodka, the latest craft spirit to hit the market, takes its name and inspiration from how it’s produced—and its home base is closer than you’d wager.

Bottled in Fort Myers at the List Distillery (the family who owns the facility has ties to the Jägermeister juggernaut), C Note is betting on standing out on bar shelves because it’s organic, gluten-free, glows green when the lights dim from an LED built into the bottle, and, most importantly, is one of the strongest premium vodkas on the market. The catchy branding and design with the namesake bill emblazoned on the side puts its money where its mouth is, as the formula is 100 proof, which means it’s 50 percent alcohol by volume. Most vodkas, even high-end ones like Grey Goose and Cîroc, are 80 proof, so 40 percent alcohol—and this one is distilled six times from the most American of American crops, corn (impressive yet again).

The bottles will be sold at big-box stores in the U.S. and also distributed internationally. Living up to its name (and self-cultivated baller image), C Note’s owner, Travis Gillern, says a celebrity endorsement is also in the works.
