Homes of the Year: The Best of 2015

The top 5 coolest houses featured in our Home of the Month series

BY December 31, 2015

Every month in Gulfshore Life we publish what we call the Home of the Month. And, every month, we get transfixed by luxurious living rooms, picturesque pools and divine decks.

It's pretty hard to narrow it down, but we've decided on the top five coolest homes of the year. It was a tough job, but we felt someone had to take on the harrowing task of leafing through gorgeous architecture photography.

So, we give you the Top Five Homes of the Year (in no particular order—judge for yourself which you think is the very best.)

A Castle with A Past

In the exclusive Bay Colony area, just south of The Ritz-Carlton, Naples, this mansion—known as Castle by the Sea—has been the backdrop of many philanthropic events staged around its pool or on the lush, sprawling lawn that stretches within feet of the Gulf of Mexico.

A Tasteful Estate

Amid the spectacularly landscaped lawns of Quail West is a polished brick driveway leading up to a grand estate home, awash in white. This house, known only briefly as the Sophia model during the season’s parade of homes here, was quickly reserved by a buyer.

Downtown Cool

The rustic coastal design of a new downtown home suits a Canadian couple well when they and their young adult children dash in and out of Naples, as their schedules permit. Relaxing days are spent in this spacious dwelling along one of Old Naples’ most peaceful streets.

Hiding Away

On a road that winds past protected preserves and picturesque beaches, homes and condominiums of Marco Island’s gated Hideaway Beach community arise majestically along the shoreline to provide a quiet respite from the seasonal business underway on the rest of the island.

A Modern Getaway

When a Washington, D.C., power couple decided they wanted a Naples getaway, they found a cozy home within biking distance of downtown.
