Doctors weigh in on what we're in for.
If you haven’t gotten a flu shot, maybe sign up for one now.
Experts are expecting the flu to come on strong this winter, based on what they’ve seen in the southern hemisphere earlier this year, according to a memo in the New England Journal of Medicine.
Doctors typically look south to get an idea of what’s coming. Making predictions is typically tricky, but this year saw a record-breaking number of cases in Australia, where the vaccine was only about 10 percent effective against a particular strain of the virus that ran rampant.
Even still, getting a flu shot is your best bet to prevent getting sick.
