Marco Island’s Tigertail Named One of World’s Best Secret Beaches

‘Coastal Living’ magazine is sharing our secrets.

Guess it’s not so secret anymore.

Coastal Living placed Tigertail Beach on Marco Island on its list of Best Secret Beaches in the World, alongside some of the most pristine stretches of sand in Hawaii, Jamaica and Bermuda.

If you haven’t made to Tigertail, it’s a must-visit. Here’s how we described it in our Beach Lovers Only Guide:

“The 32-acre (Tigertail) offers a little something for everyone. First, the beach is divided
into two separate areas by
a tidal lagoon that offers
super-placid waters for paddleboarding, swimming
and more. The vegetation along
the sand bar that acts as a buffer between the Gulf and the main beach area offers a spot to see shore birds—it’s an important nest site for several species—and to cast a line. Plus, the beach has all the amenities you’d look for in a family-friendly spot with a restaurant, equipment rentals and restrooms.”

At times, it can feel like every square inch of Southwest Florida has been well-trodden, especially this time of year, but there are plenty of hidden treasures, as we detailed in our February 2016 issue. Just don’t tell too many of your friends.
