Sweet News, Fort Myers

Not only are you soon getting a Whole Foods, but it will house a Norman Love café.

Chocolates (ohhh, those chocolates!), pastries and coffee, oh my!

With a nod to the local community, the currently under-construction Whole Foods Market on Daniels Parkway in Fort Myers has forged a partnership with the Gulfshore’s celebrated chocolatier, Norman Love, for a unique endeavor. Rather than have a typical walk-up coffee bar as seen in other branches (including the Naples location), this store is having chef Love is put his stamp on a sit-down café. It will have tables aplenty and a menu designed to entice shoppers to stop by morning through night, in a similar spirit to the always-abuzz Norman Love Confections salon on McGregor. “The café will be operated by us, and everything will be manufactured by us,” Love says. “We want people to be able to relax and enjoy coffee, drinks and pastries.”

In another juicy bit of news, the master pastry chef is also working on a custom-branded line of take-home treats for Whole Foods that will be sold exclusively in-store (as opposed to his other retail outlets). When pressed for more information, Love said that’s all he could share for now—with a wink and a nod. Looks like it’s safe to say we should all stay tuned.
