For pretty much all of us these days, trying new restaurants is an activity—it’s something we can’t wait to do. But a lot conspires against us actually getting to every place on our list (there are so many—and only so many days!).
Here’s an idea we floated around last year: Why not tackle a bunch in one fell swoop?
When we started writing the 10 Best New Restaurants feature in 2014, it quickly became one of the most-read stories on our website. Each January we now crown the next crop of honorees (click here to see 2017’s), and in 2016 we went a step further—planning a party where attendees could sample those restaurants' food and drinks.
Our 2017 Best New Restaurants event on Thursday, Jan. 19, is going beyond the precedent we set. Not only do we have seven of the 10 restaurants confirmed to be preparing multiple canapés for our guests (last year’s party included shrimp and grits, tortelloni and wagyu NY strip, to name a few), but the new Bone Hook Brewery is crafting a special beer just for the night. Plenty of cocktails will also be swirled, and reds and whites will be poured.
Tickets are $75 for unlimited food and drink from 6-8 p.m.
But it’s priceless to get a taste of 1500 South by Chef Art Smith, La Corte Bistro, Petar’s, Zen Asian BBQ, 21 Spices by Chef Asif, MidTown Kitchen + Bar and more in one bite.
