DASH, Mediterranean Named Best Diets
The U.S. News & World Report recently released its annual ranking.
You can’t go wrong with eating more veggies, whole grains, lean protein and low-fat dairy. That’s what the annual U.S. News & World Report Best Diet report determined when it named the DASH and Mediterranean diets its top meal plans.
The two diets are fairly similar, although the Mediterranean diet also encourages the use of healthy fats like olive oil. The DASH diet was developed to fight high blood pressure, but, as the rankings note, it can be good for all lifestyles. It’s topped the list for eight straight years.
