Financial analysis site Bankrate.com named Cape Coral one of the best places to retire in the country.
Looking at a range of information from cost of living to walkability, website editors ranked 172 cities across the country, placing Cape Coral (along Fort Myers) eighth overall. Editors cited the area’s low crime rate, warm weather and outdoor activities as the main reasons for its high ranking.
No other Florida cities ranked in the top 10. However, Tampa and Sarasota did crack the top 30.
