We here in Southwest Florida are continuing to grieve with the rest of the nation following the shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando early Sunday morning. However, we are also starting to act.

Below are ways that you can give back and honor the victims of this tragedy.

The Pulse Victims Fund: Equality Florida, the state’s LGBT civil rights organization, is leading the fundraising efforts for the victims and their families. The organization is working with the National Center for Victims of Crime and other organizations to ensure the money goes directly to victims.

The Community Blood Center, affiliated with NCH, is working with Orlando officials to help support any blood collection efforts following an interest locally in giving. Blood drive locations are here.

Pride SWFL is organizing a candlelight vigil in Centennial Park in Fort Myers Saturday. Among other activities, a blood mobile will there to accept donations. Go to its Facebook page for updates.

1500 South is one of dozens of Florida restaurants participating in “Dine Out for Orlando United” on June 30. Process will go to the OneOrlando Fund.
