BY June 1, 2017

Waterside Shops is pleased to announce that the Gulf Coast’s premiere shopping and dining destination raised $15,000 during the center’s January through April 2017, Sip & Shop Sundays.

The beneficiary, Champions For Learning™ (the Education Foundation), received the $15,000 check on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, during a ceremony at Waterside Shops. The funds support the charity’s goals:

  • Foster real-world learning opportunities for students and families
  • Cultivate opportunities for educators to engage with their community and each other
  • Promote community-based collaboration, innovation and sharing of resources

“It’s a thrill to partner with our community in support of local nonprofit organizations like Champions For Learning,” details Anne Fleming, general manager of Waterside Shops. “Together, we are working to ensure growth opportunities for teachers and students, and supporting future leaders of Collier County.”

From January through April, guests enjoyed $5 Bloody Marys or Mimosas (21 years of age and older) on Sundays at the center’s Pavilion with 100 percent of proceeds from Sip & Shop bar sales benefiting Champions for Learning. Sip & Shop Sundays were sponsored by matching partners Lipman Produce and Gulfshore Life. For more information, please contact Waterside Shops management office at 239-598-1605.

According to Jaime Weisinger, Director of Community Relations with Lipman, “My family has made it a priority to give students the same opportunities that we were afforded as children. The Champions For Learning initiative has created the perfect venue to enhance the learning experience for all of the students in Collier County. We are proud to support them.”
