Leave the black jacket at home and try cream for your next black-tie event. It's what James Bond would do.
Let's face it. We all want to look like James Bond.
There has been a slow and steady drumbeat towards men wearing cream tuxedo jackets again. Years ago it was somewhat a norm and viable option. But somehow lost its place as boredom, sameness, and normality took its hold of black tie dressing for men. But it is back and being worn by some of the biggest names in both Hollywood and fashion. At this year's Academy Awards the two big acting winners, Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto, donned the cream coats. Both had a twist. McConaughey wore with a black vest, which I think took away from the clean lines and simplicity of the dinner jacket. Leto wore with a maroon bow tie. Certainly a choice. Agree with their choices or not, they are playing with fashion. And that’s what it is all about. Making it your own. And we can all try the cream jacket. Be it James Bond or hollywood "it" boys. Be the one to brighten up a sea of black coats.
Cream jackets were all the rage for Oscar winners this year.
