Get a Free Muffin on Monday

Sunburst Café is celebrating its 19th anniversary on April 3 with a day-long giveaway of its legendary baked goods.

Update: Free Muffin Monday raised $1,600 for the Poinciana Elementary School John Doe Account to help feed hungry children. The cafe gave away more than 400 muffins.

Do you know The Muffin Man? He lives on … Pine Ridge Road!

For 19 years, Jerome Tocio has stirred, scooped and baked his way into the hearts of many in Naples, who consider his recipes to be among the best. There are always staples like blueberry and chocolate chip in the 75 he prepares each day, and he’s constantly rotating in more exotic flavors like pistachio, Key lime, maple-bacon, caramel-apple, Nutella—the list goes on.

On Monday, April 3, what better way for him to ring in another year of starting people’s days off right at Sunburst Café, which he owns and runs with his wife, Theresa, than to offer each guest a freebie? Yup, as long as you step in the door, you’ll be granted a free muffin of your choice. The only thing the Tocios are suggesting is that you make a donation while you're there if you'd like; all of the funds will be 100 percent matched by them and given to an account that a local elementary school created to help feed hungry children.

With locally roasted coffee (the employees’ cheeky “Friends don’t let friends go to Starbucks” shirts never cease to incite hushed chuckles) and plenty else to sip and munch on, plan on breakfast or lunch or a snack while the doors are open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday.
