Attack of the Ads

It’s not your imagination. The drug ads are getting out of control.

BY March 20, 2018

Cialis, Lyrica, Humira … drug ads are dominating television like never before. In fact, more than 771,000 ads were shown in 2016, a 65 percent increase from the year before, according to a report in The New York Times. The reason: the aging demographic of television viewers. As younger people tend to cut cords, television remains a prime place to catch the attention of the baby boomer generation. Oh, and those long rambles at the end about all the side effects? They actually work. They reportedly make the ad purveyors seem more trustworthy.
