Some runners get a little fruity about the Turtle Trot 5K.

It seems there’s no pressure to be as fast as the hare in the Turtle Trot 5K. But whether or not slow and steady wins this race, taking place this Saturday, you can’t top running through the beautiful barrier islands of Lovers Key State Park. You get the beat of the beach without having to run on the sand, with a hard-packed trail leading you through a shaded maritime hammock ecosystem and ending at the park pavilion overlooking the Gulf. Follow the ninth annual event with the popular cool-down dip in the Gulf.
