Feel Good

Try Meditation to Get Your Focus Back

Study: 10 minutes a day can help.

Ever start to do something only to find your mind racing about something totally different? That happens to most people from time to time, but for those with chronic anxiety it can lead to a spiral that can seriously hamper their day-to-day activities.

Meditation can help with that. Researchers at the University of Waterloo conducted a study among college students who suffered from severe anxiety. They found that the students who meditated for 10 minutes and then started on a monotonous task did a much better job at focusing and not getting distracted by racing thoughts.

Of course, the meditation does take time, but it may be worth it in the long run for a calmer, more focused life.
