Feel Good Report: Obesity Continues to Be a Problem in U.S.
Sadly, we are not surprised.
The news isn’t getting better for our waistlines. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a study saying that obesity rates are either stable or continuing to climb. Close to 40 percent of Americans were obese in 2014, up from 30 percent in 2000. The percentage of obese children has plateaued at about 17 percent.
The good news is that we are eating healthier. The number of calories Americans are eating has decreased. But more factors are contributing to our weight gain. A Marketwatch story says a lack of exercise, a high level of stress, less sleep and several other factors remain problems.
