ElevateHer SWFL 2016

Hosted by Talis Park Golf Club

BY November 2, 2016

The Women’s Foundation of Southwest Florida awarded $20,000 in matching grants to Our Mother’s Home, Pace Center for Girls in Lee County, Human Trafficking Awareness Partnerships and New Horizons, as part of their ElevateHer SWFL initiative. The grants were awarded during the Foundation’s Fall 2016 #ElevateHerSWFL breakfast which took place October 27th at Talis Park in Naples. The grants underscore the Foundation’s commitment to invest $500,000 in causes that help local women and girls by 2020.

ElevateHer SWFL, an initiative of the Women’s Foundation, engages the community in the philanthropic process by providing a platform for professionals to raise funds, and learn about issues affecting local women and girls. ElevateHer leaders research, identify and select matching grant nonprofit partners and engage in the community to effect meaningful change.

The awarded grants will support services to girls provided by Pace Center-Lee County; comprehensive mentored living services for adolescent foster girls with babies at Our Mothers Home; and mentorship and guidance for at-risk girls at New Horizons’ Super Girls Club. Funds will also support Human Trafficking Awareness Partnerships as they develop human trafficking prevention programs tailored to the needs of the Lee County school system.

To date over $45,000 has been pledged or donated toward the goal of $100,000 for 2017 matching grants. ElevateHer matching grants are made possible thanks to our local business and nonprofit sponsors: United Way of Collier County, Comerica Bank, Florida Community Bank, Naples United Church of Christ, Hodges University, Baird Financial Advisors, BNY Mellon Wealth Management, Atlas Design and Engineering, Lluberes Family Charitable Fund, Progressive Builders Inc., Corbin & Bourke Wealth Management and ZUmedic.
