The Wine Store, a Rare Find, Is Finally Open

Boutique and cult labels from one of the country’s most well-recognized names in the world of wine is just the start of what this newly opened store in downtown Naples has to offer.

It may look glossy and new in a development that just went up over the past year off Goodlette-Frank Road, but some of the treasures inside The Wine Store date back nearly a century.

That’s because Bruce Nichols, its founder and proprietor, has made a name for himself in the international wine market in the past few decades as a private high-end retailer. Based first out of Napa Valley and then relocating to Naples many years ago, he has personally guided and cultivated collections for his clients that include some of the most prized bottles in the world—from the best vintages of First Growth Bordeaux reds to the crazy-hard-to-get California cults like Screaming Eagle.

Here, for the rest of us, the honorary trustee of the prestigious Naples Winter Wine Festival is sharing his wealth of knowledge—he’ll be pointing consumers to expand their palates through a unique selection of smaller, boutique vintners and educational seminars he’ll hold with contacts he has in the wine world.

If you get to the point where you’re considering starting a serious collection of your own, Nichols has made The Wine Store a one-stop shop—not only does it have lockers in a temperature-controlled environment to rent, but he will help you with paperwork to insure your precious cargo.
