The Oyster Society to Open on Marco

A retro raw bar is the next venture on the island for the family behind DaVinci's and Marco Prime.

A retro raw bar is the next venture on the island for the family behind DaVinci's and Marco Prime. In fact, the Carvellis plan to launch The Oyster Society as part of their Casa Nostra Restaurant Group by the end of November in the exact same Marco Walk Plaza as their other two eateries.

Megan Carvelli is designing the space, channeling the roaring ’20s with a direct nod of the fedora to Southwest Floridian Gatsbys—she even had members of her family dress up in period garb and pose for photos that will adorn the walls (one is pictured here).

The glamorous seaside air will be matched by a full bar and creative cocktail list, plus, of course, a menu of daily raw bar specials like Kumamotos, Blue Points and Malpeques and local catches, such as snapper and grouper. Not to limit themselves, the time has come to talk of many things, of cabbages and kings—there might also be king crab legs or Asian-style slaw alongside wild-caught salmon, or fresh pastas, or even medium-rare rib-eyes—the idea is to establish The Oyster Society as a chic locale for fresh seafood but cast a wide net in the process.

The family has shown an aptitude for diving into concepts, with the Italian trattoria and upscale-casual modern steakhouse next door—so it will be exciting to see how this new spot will make waves on Marco Island.
