Bottoms Up: The Old Fashioned at The Standard

BY April 4, 2017

The Standard, which made its debut last season in Fort Myers’ River District, proved quickly to live up to its name. Both tourists and locals alike have come to rely on it for daily lunches and dinners—and cocktails that have raised the bar (or, let’s call it like it is: set a new standard) for mixed drinks downtown. The epitome is the old fashioned, what has become the de facto signature sip, featuring two types of bitters, Old Forester bourbon, a homemade brown sugar simple syrup and tart cherries imported from Italy over a single block of ice.
