Precious Picnic

By: Editorial Staff

A best bite at Bacchus of Naples.

Miffed at the French? Maybe it's time to forgive and forget, or at least break down and sample some of the seductive selections from Petrossian Paris at Bacchus of Naples.

The chic Fifth Avenue South wine emporium now stocks 35 haute cuisine products from the legendary French gourmet company-everything from Petrossian soup to Petrossian nuts. You can put together an elegant sunset picnic with some Iranian osetra caviar ($423 for a little over four ounces), a package of mini blinis ($13) and a bottle of Henriot Brut Champagne Cuvée des Enchanteleurs 1988 champagne, ($86). Include a box of Petrossian assorted dark and milk chocolate candies ($50) adds an embarrassment of riches. With fillings such as chestnut paste and rum or lavender honey, they come beautifully packaged in the famous Petrossian blue box. Bacchus of Naples, 301 Fifth Ave. S., Naples. 659-3232.
