Revolutionary Fare

By: Marsha Fottler

Gallic gusto at Naples' Le Lafayette, and a fresh find at Fort Myers Beach

Ask Marsha

Q. Got a sensational new martini I should know about? Cocktail connoisseur that I am, my goal in life is to try them all.

A. Oh, I have a berry, berry nice one for you to add to the collection. It's the Blue Fusion Martini at Chop's (both the Bonita and Naples locations). This one is made with Skyy Berry vodka, DeKuyper blueberry schnapps and fresh whirled blueberries, and it's served with a lemon twist. The color is not blue, but a deep winey-purple. The flavor is luscious and full-a marvelous addition to the ever-growing list of designer martini drinks. A cautionary note: If you spill a drop of this drink on your clothing, expect immediate and permanent staining. Also, your teeth, lips and tongue will turn an unusual color after sipping a Blue Fusion. I used a mini cocktail straw to avoid announcing to the world what I had just enjoyed.
