World-class hotels, intimate boutique inns and lavish resorts make a Gulfshore vacation far more than a mere beach getaway. The Ritz-Carlton chain boasts two stylish Naples resorts, one on the beach, the other for golf aficionados. Luxury chains, such as Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott and Radisson, stand ready to pamper visitors as well. In Old Naples, visitors will find boutique accommodations at places such as Inn by the Sea, the Inn on Fifth and Hotel Escalante.

Waterfront hotels in Marco Island and Naples emerged relatively unscathed from the 2004 hurricane season, but Hurricane Charley hit resorts on Sanibel and Captiva hard. South Seas Resort on Captiva Island and Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa were heavily damaged. Both properties plan to reopen in 2005. Other island hotels are making repairs and reopening.

You'll find most of the major hoteliers along U.S. 41 with some of the economy brands just off Interstate 75.
