Summer on the Gulfshore with art, benefits and events.

Art

Von Liebig Art Center. Through July 3: Made in Florida: The Contemporary Landscape; wall sculptures by Scott Meikle; and The Wednesday Studio. Opening July 17 to run through Aug. 28: the Faculty Biennial, featuring current work, in the Frederick O. Watson Gallery; and the NAA Members Juried Exhibition, on view July 17-Aug. 7 in the center's other spaces. Information: 262-6517.

Naples Museum of Art. Ansel Adams and Edwin Land: Art, Science and Invention-Photographs from the Polaroid Collection continues through July 31, as do the exhibitions Changing Hands-Art without Reservation: Contemporary Native American Art from the Southwest and Staging Reality: Photography from the West Collection at SEI that offers works by James Casebere and Todd Hido. The museum then closes until Sept. 7. Information: 597-1900.

Art League of Marco Island. A Multitude of Art, the members' juried summer show, continues on view through Sept. 30. Information: 394-4221.

BENEFITS

Under the Sea. An evening of casino games, prizes, a silent auction and dinner from Outback Steakhouse, all to benefit the Children's Science Center of Cape Coral. From 6 to 11 p.m. July 16 at the Cape Coral Yacht Club. Information: 997-0012.

Caring for Children Auction. A silent benefit auction at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 7, followed by a buffet dinner and the musical Grease, at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre in Fort Myers. Tickets, $50, to benefit Childcare of Southwest Florida. Information: 278-1002.

Arts for ACT. Continuing the traditon of celebrity auctioneers for this high profile event, Tracey Ullman will lend star power to this art auction to benefit the Abuse Counseling Treatment Center. CHILDREN

You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Charlie, Linus, Lucy, Snoopy and the gang entertain through Aug. 14 during select matinees at the Ice Cream Theatre/Naples Dinner Theatre. Information: 514-STAR (7827).

Miscellaneous

Fourth of July Parade. The patriotic parade starts at 10 a.m. July 3 in downtown Naples, but you'll have to wait until 9 p.m. July 4 for the fireworks, which will be at the Naples Pier and which will include local favorite Beatrice Ciotti singing the national anthem. Information: 213-7120.

Evening on Fifth. Live entertainment, shopping and more, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. July 8, Aug. 12 and Sept. 9 along the Naples avenue. Infor-mation: 435-3742.

MUSIC

SummerJazz. Free jazz performances at the Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club include Tampa Women's Blues Review, July 24; Steve Gryb, Aug. 28; and Paul Howards, Sept. 18. All shows run from 7 to 10 p.m. Information: 261-2222.

Percussion Summit 2004. A program of outstanding percussion music from the Naples Philhar-monic, the Florida Orchestra and the Jacksonville Symphony, along with guest stars hand-drummer Taku Hirano and percussion-comedy performers the Jammitors. At 8 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Phil, with a special percussion clinic for students at 3 p.m. Information: 597-1900.

Naples Philharmonic Chamber Series. The Phil kicks off the season's chamber series with Corelli by Candlelight, featuring the Baroque Ensemble performing three of Arcangelo Corelli's concerti. Fools. Florida Repertory continues its Neil Simon summer with this farce about a Russian town cursed with chronic stupidity and the poor guy whose job it is to break the curse. Onstage July 9-Aug. 1. Information: 332-4488.

Guys and Dolls. All those Damon Runyon characters and all that Frank Loesser music, brought to life July 14-Aug. 14 in a Naples Players production at the Sugden Community Theatre. Information: 263-7990.

The Fantasticks. The Tom Jones-Harvey Schmidt long-long-running hit about young love and conniving parents runs Aug. 26-Sept. 26 at Naples Dinner Theatre. Information: 514-STAR (7827).

Biloxi Blues. The second in Neil Simon's autobiographical trilogy, this one focuses on young Eugene Morris Jerome as an Army recruit learning about basic training, women and more. Onstage Sept. 10-Oct. 3 at Florida Rep. Information: 332-4488.

I Do, I Do! Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt's work turns up again in this musical paean to wedded bliss-with a nod to its strife-onstage Sept. 30-Oct. 23 at Naples Dinner Theatre. Information: 514-STAR (7827).
