Fashion StatementBy: Holly PergolaSharon Stone at Arts for ACT in Fort Myers. |
NAME: SHARON STONE
Spotted at: Arts for ACT at the Harborside Event Center, Fort Myers. As guest auctioneer, she remained on stage for four hours and raised more than $357,000-including $28,000 from auctioning off her outfit. By 10 p.m., the dedicated fund raiser was standing on stage barefoot wearing a white tablecloth.
Occupation: Academy Award-nominated actress, Golden Globe winner, mother of two.
Credits Include: Basic Instinct, Sliver, Casino, Catwoman and Broken Flowers.
Grew up in: Meadville, Pa.
Came with: Captiva Island artist Robert Rauschenberg, who donated numerous paintings to be auctioned that night.
What are you wearing? The dress is by Mandalay. It's an empire-waist dress size 6-8. I wore a Mandalay dress to the premiere of Catwoman also. [Stone sold her yellow jewel-encrusted Mandalay dress during the auction for $11,000.]
Who made your shoes? Roberto Cavalli. These are one of my favorite pairs. They're a size 8. The heels are about five inches high. When you wear these shoes, you don't do a lot of walking. [Stone auctioned off the shoes and threw in one of her own Cavalli dresses for more than $11,000.]
Which Cavalli dress did you contribute? The white dress I wore to the Elton John party. There is a picture of me hugging Elton wearing it in InStyle right now.
The purse (not shown)? I love this purse; it carries a lot. Inside I've got a camera, pictures of my kids and a pink pashmina. [It sold for $6,000-contents not included.]
Stone's comments were made on stage during the event.
