Seen at: cocktail party at Marissa Collections to celebrate the opening of the new Michael Kors boutique. Read the interview with Michael Kors, p. 58.
Occupation: marketing consultant and planner
What are you wearing? It’s a Michael Kors from the 2003 collection. The onyx beads at the top add a touch of whimsy. I tried it on and fell in love with it. This is the first time I’ve ever worn it. I was surprised when Michael saw me in it, his eyes just lit up. He knows his outfits as if they were his own children. My shoes are Pedro Garcia.
No accessories tonight? No. I have learned over the years, whether it is the way you dress or how you design your home, not everything can star. You can’t put on an outfit that has a fabulous onyx neckline and then a necklace and rings and bracelets. You start to look like a holiday Christmas ornament.
Where do you shop? I shop exclusively at Marissa’s, and have done so for 12 years. She really understands the importance of longevity in your clothing as an investment as well as a collection.
What label do you love? JBrand jeans. They make every woman look like she’s six feet tall. If I could have anything, it would be long legs.
Recent favorite piece? The whole baby-doll top and bubble dress phenomenon is hysterically fun and whimsical. And we’re bringing those back with leggings. Leggings were hot with Jane Fonda and her exercise tapes.
Necessary accessory? A great belt. Lanvin has done a whole series of beautiful belts that are nothing more than grosgrain with a vintage buckle. You can put on a pair of blue jeans and a turtleneck sweater and you look oh-so current.
