Visitor's Annual: Galleries & Visual Arts
Art collectors from around the world have long guarded our quiet side of Florida as their own personal best-kept secret. But the word is out. The museums and galleries along the Gulfshore have been discovered by the most discriminating critics. Besides our hundreds of fine galleries, beautiful works of sculpture and trompe l’oeil grace both public and private spaces. Gallery-rich Old Naples is especially delightful on Thursday evenings, when twinkly lights and street musicians provide added ambience to your art stroll. At Naples’ Bayfront Place, top-tier galleries join the chic mix of bistros and boutiques overlooking the Gordon River.

The collections and exhibitions at the Naples Museum of Art, the von Liebig Art Center and the Marco Island Center for the Arts rival some of the finest museums in the country and all our Gulfshore. Colorful galleries sprout from historic downtown cottages to turn-of-the-century fisherman’s shacks. This is nothing new—for many years, artists like Jonathan Green, Darryl Pottorf, Phil Fisher, Natalie Guess, Joan Sonnenberg and photographer Clyde Butcher have made this region their home.
