Join the David Lawrence Center for the first annual Sound Minds™ music festival and mental health symposium. The symposium is modeled after the wildly successful Music Festival for Brain Health held annually at the Staglin Family Vineyard in Napa Valley for the last 20 years. Begin your day interacting with featured scientists and professionals at the symposium. Then feed your senses with wine tasting and hors d’oeuvres, followed by live music at the concert. You may even choose to pair your experience with an exclusive dinner featuring harmonious couplings of Staglin Family Vineyard wines.
In partnership with IMHRO, the symposium will feature renowned experts and advocates for brain science and early detection and intervention. Learn how to recognize early signs in youth to interrupt the negative course of some mental illnesses and improve the long-term outcome for individuals in our community from the following scientists and mental health advocates:
Carrie Bearden, PhD
Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry & Biobehavioral Sciences at UCLA.
Scott Russo, PhD
Assistant Professor of Neuroscience at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Scott Haltzman, MD
Senior Psychiatrist, Outpatient Medical Services David Lawrence Center; Distinguished Fellow, American Psychiatric Association; When Bad Things Happen to Good Families—Harnessing the Power of Resiliency.
The presentation will be followed by a moderated audience Q&A session with seasoned television personality Fox 4 news anchor Patrick Nolan who will serve as the event emcee.
