Description

A drama based on the autobiography by Li Cunxin. At the age of 11, Li was plucked from a poor Chinese village by Madame Mao's cultural delegates and taken to Beijing to study ballet. In 1979, during a cultural exchange to Texas, he falls in love with an American woman. Two years later, he manages to defect and goes on to perform as principal dancer for the Houston Ballet and as principal artist with the Australian Ballet. Rated PG. Biography|Drama|Music made in Australia. Refreshments are available—wine and non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, etc. Doors open at 6:30pm and films begin at 7:00pm
