Triumph 2013 – Lives of Valor will honor four individuals connected to the Holocaust whose lives have had local, national and international impact.
The local Honorees are Ann Jacobson and Lorie Mayer, who helped found the Museum and have been involved in its growth and community activities. Ann is going to be featured in the upcoming WGCU series, “Makers”, which highlights memorable SWFL women.
The national Honoree and keynote speaker is Major General Sidney Shachnow, USA, Ret.. He survived the Holocaust as a child and came to the US as a teenager. He joined the Army, working his way through the ranks, joining the Green Berets, and retired as the Commanding General of US Army Special Forces.
The international Honoree, Raoul Wallenberg, will be posthumously honored. He was a Holocaust Rescuer who saved thousands of lives. A bust of Mr. Wallenberg, commissioned by Naples businessman, Abe Asli, and created by Swedish artist, Ladislav Vlna, will be presented to the Museum by a grandniece of Mr. Wallenberg at this event.
Our annual fundraiser will be held on Sunday, April 7, at Naples Luxury Imports at 6pm. Tickets are $150, and the event will include small plate dining, a Silent Auction and a Live Auction. Proceeds will benefit the Museum’s Education Programs. Call 239-263-9200
