Tickets are still available for Youth Haven’s 3rd annual Home-Hope-Healing Luncheon that is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort. This year’s event will feature guest speaker Erik Weihenmayer’s presentation, "Turning Everyday Struggles into Everyday Greatness.” Weihenmayer is the first blind man to climb to the top of Mount Everest and the only to reach the top of all Seven Summits.
A former middle school teacher and wrestling coach, Weihenmayer is one of the most exciting, celebrated, and well-known adventurers in the world. Despite losing his vision at the age of 13, Erik has become an accomplished mountain climber, paraglider, and skier who has never let blindness interfere with his passion for an exhilarating and fulfilling life. Redefining what it means to be blind, Weihenmayer has opened the eyes and minds of people around the world. In 2001, he became the only blind climber in history to reach the summit of Mount Everest. In 2008, he completed his quest to climb the Seven Summits – the tallest peak on each of the seven continents. Since then, he has continued to inspire others through his actions and deeds and devoted himself to helping others reach their full potential. His powerful message speaks to harnessing the power of adversity and using it as fuel for greatness.
Tickets for Youth Haven’s 3rd annual Home-Hope-Healing Luncheon are $250 per person or $1500 per patron. Patrons receive two tickets to the luncheon and a private pre-luncheon VIP reception with Weihenmayer. All proceeds from the Home-Hope-Healing Luncheon will benefit the work of Youth Haven.
