Discover Southwest Florida: Arts & Entertainment

Whether your taste runs to glittery black- tie evenings or free jazz jam sessions, there’s always someplace to go here on the Gulfshore. There are coffee shops, Broadway and off-Broadway shows, bistros and clubs with live entertainment and interesting lectures. This season, several hotels have opened dance floors to the public.

The Gulfshore has an active theater community, with top-notch professional equity and community theater companies, including dinner theater, cabarets and improv. For a picturesque setting and first-rate theater, take in a performance of the Florida Repertory Theatre in the Arcade, an early 1900s vaudeville house in the historic Fort Myers River District.

Naples is the winter home of the Miami City Ballet Company. It has an outstanding opera company, two top-ranked symphony orchestras and two exceptional performing arts halls. A jewel in this crown is Naples’ Philharmonic Center for the Arts. The stunning architecture, acoustic excellence, world-class museum and diverse program of theater, music and dance, Lifelong Learning programs, field trips, films, notable speakers and star performances make it one of the top-ranked arts centers in Florida.
