Discover Southwest Florida: Galleries

The art world discovered the Gulfshore about a decade ago, and now art collectors come from around the globe to acquire fine paintings, sculpture, photography and objets d’art. Scores of studios with artists in residence reflect our love of all things beautiful. From oil and watercolor to glass, bronze and clay; from exquisite miniatures to massive one-of-a-kind installations; art treasures come in all sizes and all media.

Our subtropical climate feeds our passion for public art, as evidenced by the plethora of sculptures and monuments that grace the region.

In addition to the world-class galleries at the Patty & Jay Baker Naples Museum of Art and The von Liebig Art Center, there are the small galleries of renowned photographer Clyde Butcher, the late Robert Rauschenberg and many others. Don’t miss the colorful galleries tucked into historic tin-roofed cottages and turn-of-the-century fishermen’s shacks from Marco Island north to the barrier islands of Sanibel, Captiva and Pine Island. And be sure to enjoy the works of gifted artisans in unexpected places, such as fountains, trompe l’oeil murals and hand-wrought garden gates.
