Insider's Guide: Arts & Entertainment

Spectacular show: From Artis-Naples to the Florida Rep, you'll find great entertainment is never far away onSpectacular show: From the Philharmonic Center for the Arts to the Florida Rep, you'll find great entertainment is never far away on the Gulfshore.

Whether your taste runs to black tie evenings or karaoke clubs, Broadway shows, community theater, improv, dance exhibitions, symphonic orchestra or anything in between, the cultural scene on the Gulfshore is bursting at its seams. Our performance stages range from the super-glam Naples Philharmonic Center for the Arts to the intimate, circa-1900 Arcade Theater, a former vaudeville house in the historic Fort Myers Downtown River District, which is now home to the highly acclaimed Florida Repertory Theatre. Catch a performance at TheatreZone, a Naples Players show at beautiful Sugden Community Theatre on glamorous Fifth Avenue South, or a Gulfshore Playhouse show at Norris Center or the Phil in Naples. See a major Broadway production at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Center, or a lively small stage production at the popular Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre. Among the oldest and most venerable theaters on the Gulfshore thrill audiences on Marco and Sanibel islands. And “The Bard” is alive and well, thanks to several Shakespeare companies.

Thousands gather on Sunday afternoons in Naples’ Cambier Park to hear the Naples Concert Band. Check out the evening jazz concerts at the Lee County Alliance for the Arts, free concerts in Fort Myers’ Centennial Park and the Riverside Park band shell in Bonita Springs.
