Fabulous views of the Gulf of Mexico, coupled with top-of-the-line amenities for luxurious living, led to several sweet deals as the real estate market returned with gusto.
With prices roaring well past those posted a year before, a handful of neighborhoods (and islands) emerged as the leading locales for homes of desire. In Collier, those at the top are either on Gulf Shore Boulevard or in Port Royal. In Lee, Sanibel and Captiva islands rule, with a few mainland offerings in Bonita Springs.
Collier County’s leading deal was at 2658 Gordon Drive, which was purchased for $30 million, due to its scenic site offering splendid views of the Gulf of Mexico. The owners of this beach estate, featuring 3.14 acres, plan to build a new residence of up to 19,000 square feet amidst its towering palms and other landscaping features. The property was sold by Bill Earls of John R. Wood Realtors.
Lee County’s highest seller captures the sunset from Sanibel’s western beaches. Built in 1997, this beach estate has wrap-around porches, a 100-foot beach, four bedrooms and six bathrooms. Located at 3517 W. Gulf Drive, it sold for $8 million by McMurray & Nette of Royal Shell Real Estate.
