$3.1 Million

Ansgar and Monika Klein, owners of this threebedroom, three-and-a-half-bath home in The Estuary at Grey Oaks, say the uncertainty of the European currency situation spurred their desire to invest elsewhere, and Florida real estate sounded right.

“We had been looking at property on both coasts, but Grey Oaks Country Club’s amenities, lifestyle and proximity to Fifth Avenue [South’s] sizzling life were very impressive,” Ansgar Klein explains.

The couple from Dusseldorf, Germany, zeroed in on the two-story home of 4,998 air-conditioned square feet that includes a rotunda entry with circular staircase, great room, study, and an arched outdoor living area with pool, summer kitchen and fireplace.

“The quality of the home and the reputation of the builder, London Bay Homes, were also key factors in our decision to buy,” Monika Klein adds.

European Sales Team co-selling agents Stefan Bolsen, broker, 5th Avenue Real Estate, and Gero Geilenbruegge, broker-associate at Coldwell Banker, report the Naples home, built in 2007 with 7,010 total square feet, sold in July for $3.1 million, furnished.

$1.1 Million

“These buyers were empty nesters who were looking for a change,” explains Patrick Dearborn, a director at John R. Wood Realtors, Naples. “Since their previous Florida homes had been in the traditional Mediterranean theme with dark woods and deep colors, this Grey Oaks model, built last year in the Torino neighborhood, immediately stood out to them because of its contemporary style, cool color palette and open fl oor plan.”

Dearborn, the selling agent, notes that the threebedroom, study, three-and-a-half-bath Naples home built by Diamond Custom Homes surpassed the couple’s expectations in rich design details and furnishings.

“One of their favorite features of the home is the wire-brushed wood fl oors,” he says. “They were fi nished to look like the wide-paneled wood fl ooring you might see in an old farm house. The buyers felt this was a unique contrast to the contemporary design and décor of the home.”

With 3,169 air-conditioned square feet and 4,030 total square feet, the home is equipped with an eat-in island in the kitchen and a service bar for entertaining. The lanai has a tongue-in-groove cypress ceiling that shelters an outdoor kitchen beside the pool, spa and waterfall.

Dearborn says, “Although this home was everything the buyers hoped for, the Grey Oaks lifestyle certainly played a part in their choice.” The home closed in August for $1.1 million, furnished.

$699,000

“These buyers wanted easy access to boating, water skiing and social events happening every day,” says Jeff Garard. “First they discovered that Miromar Lakes & Country Club has all these things, and then they found a home that perfectly met their needs.”

Garard and his co-listing agent at Miromar Realty, Robert Burdett, state that a three-bedroom, den, three-bath Montebello coach home in the Estero community more than met their clients’ expectations for quality, size and location.

“It has one-of-a-kind designer features throughout,” Garard says. “Magnifi cent glass and decorative tiles adorn all baths; there’s a wet bar in the guest suite, and there’s a wood fl oor in the den. Twelve-foot coffered and tray ceilings are embellished with mirrors and copper.”

Burdett points out that the outdoor kitchen is equipped with an electric grill and is encapsulated in a granite surround. Built in 2007 by Bateman Communities, the 3,643 air-conditioned square-foot home sold in August for $699,000, unfurnished.
