Hot Dish

HB’s on the Gulf at Naples Beach Hotel is the perfect spot for lunch or dinner. Watch beach walkers and wannabe surfers through wide windows. Cool off for lunch with a Jamaican Pineapple Boat— a curried chicken salad with pineapple, coconut, grapes and cashews. Or spice it up with seafood gumbo done Naples-style with scallops and crab added to the mix. Gorgeous sunset views make for a show-stopping backdrop for dinner. Savor Mediterranean stuffed swordfish, macadamia-crusted grouper, or sautéed Florida-snapper and crab-meat Napoleon. 851 Gulfshore Blvd., Naples, 435-4347, www.naplesbeachhotel.com.

Noodles Italian Cafe and Sushi Bar has a new summer menu. Lunch highlights are the playful lobster martini and a healthful turkey Provençal wrap. Enjoy live dinner music with a seared sesame-crusted tuna salad or blue corn tuna tartare. Interesting entrées include the New Orleans-inspired pasta bayou, and sautéed chicken and artichoke hearts. Wednesdays through Fridays feature live jazz piano, Latin music and Motown selections. 1585 Pine Ridge Road, Naples, 592-0050, www.noodlescafe.com.

Fred’s Food, Fun & Spirits has gone to the dogs. Meet and greet savvy canines and their owners while sampling Fred’s soups, sandwiches and, especially, the tapas menu. Flash-fried oysters with caper rémoulade, Southern-style pork osso bucco and blackened voodoo tuna with pickled ginger and wasabi are your best bets. Other winning samples include a mini rack of lamb with white bean ragout, truffle mac and cheese, cabernet-poached pear with Montrachet cheese and shrimp with a sweet chili glaze. The tapas are $7 each. 2700 Immokalee Road, Naples, 431-7928, www.fredsnaples.com.
