Discover Southwest Florida: Arts & Entertainment
Whether your taste runs to black-tie evenings or karaoke clubs, Broadway shows, improv or anything in between, the cultural scene on the Gulfshore is sure to please. You may slip into a cozy bistro for late-night jazz, laugh the night away at a comedy club, or attend a fascinating lecture. You can enjoy a community theater performance or even audition for a part in one.
Our performance stages range from the super-glam Naples Philharmonic Center for the Arts to the intimate, Arcade Theater, a former turn-of-the-20th-century vaudeville house in the historic Fort Myers River District and the sophisticated G&L Theatre in Naples. Also in Fort Myers is the 1,851-seat Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall and the popular Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre. In Old Naples, the Sugden Community Theatre, home of the renowned Naples Players, is a sparkling jewel in the crown of Fifth Avenue South. Some of the oldest and most venerable theaters on the Gulfshore thrill audiences on Marco and Sanibel Islands.
We have two first-rate indie film festivals: the Fort Myers Film Festival in March, and the Naples International Film Festival in November. Naples also is the winter home of the Miami City Ballet Co., and the highly acclaimed Opera Naples is now in its seventh season, with performances from November to May.
