My Favorite Things

“Books, books, books. My favorite is Morning Bells or Waking Thoughts for Little Ones, which was given to me when I was quite little by a lovely old lady who lived across the street. The book was hers when she was a child, so it is very old and well-loved.”

“Photographs, simply framed in silver, are a favorite design accessory.”

Flea markets reveal unique decorative finds, like this leopard-print stool. “They’re inspirational for design.”

Worldly wisdom: The native New Zealander draws from the picturesque surroundings of her childhood in the designs at her studio on Fourth Avenue South in Naples.

“I always have Sisley’s Eau Florale on hand. It’s a lightly scented floral water mist that you spray on your face. Spray, breathe in and feel immediately calm.”

Fresh flowers—especially peonies—cut from the garden and placed into a favorite bowl are a simple delight.

WELL, WELL, WELL ...

Saks fifth avenue is at it again, partnering with charity: water and übermodel supporter Jessica Stam to fund freshwater wells in developing nations. You can help, too, by purchasing a T-shirt, bracelet or well sponsorship this month at Saks Fifth Avenue in Waterside Shops or the Bell Tower Shops, or at Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th in Miromar Outlets. Proceeds from the sales go directly to the project.
