\n The Naples Concert Band (www.NaplesConcertBand.org )\, under the direction of Harris Lanzel\, will present a Concert in the P ark on Sunday\, Jan. 20 at 2 p.m. at the Cambier Park Bandshell in Naples.
\n\n The first concert of the New Year will feature guest soloist\, John Davis\, and vocalist\, Tony Pulera.
\n\n An accomplished piani st\, Davis studied piano performance with Ann Rutledge and vocal performan ce with Barbara Manford at Ball State University in Muncie\, Indiana\, gra duating with a B.A and M.A. and continues his education by taking Master C lasses with Maestro Hector Olivera. \; Davis is a twenty-year veteran music teacher here in Collier County and currently teaches at Pelican Mars h Elementary. \; He is the 2012 Collier County Elementary Teacher of t he year. \;
\n\n Originally from Chicago\, vocalist Tony Pulera has a diverse vocal performance background with venues in Las Vegas\; New York\; Chicago\; Monterey\, Ca\; and a worldwide USO show tour as the open ing act for Steve Martin and Jay Leno. Pulera is currently the professiona l church soloist at The Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs. He is a mem ber of the Music Makers Show Band and the Naples Jazz Orchestra.
\nThe January 20 performance repertoire will include Davis&rsquo\; renditio n of the First Movement of Grieg&rsquo\;s &ldquo\;Piano Concerto in A mino r&rdquo\;\, in addition to other classics. \; Pulera will perform his vocal magic with a medley of songs entitled &ldquo\;Barry Manilow On Tour& rdquo\;. \; A special arrangement of &ldquo\;Slaughter On Tenth Avenue &rdquo\; arranged by Band members Jim Day and Jym Moore as well as several spirited marches and a variety of exciting concert band arrangements will complete the afternoon program.

\n\n Guests are encouraged to arrive early with lawn chairs and blankets for seating. Adm ission is free\, with donations appreciated. \;Donations received at e ach concert help to defray operating expenses and are applied to The Band& rsquo\;s Scholarship Fund\, which awards scholarships each year to deservi ng student members of the band. \;
