\n The Gulf Coast Big Band will present a Concert in the Par k on Sunday\, Feb. 17 at the Cambier Park Bandshell at 2 p.m. \;
\n\n This performance will feature tunes made famous by Dizzy Gillespie\, Count Basie\, Stan Kenton\, Duke Ellington\, Woody Herman\, and many othe r great jazz artists since the 1940s. Also the band will play some jazz re nditions of great standards of Cole Porter and George Gershwin. \;
\n Vocalist Susie Hulcher\, a singer with extremely diverse musical inf luences - ranging from Gershwin to Ella Fitzgerald - will take the stage a t this exciting performance. \; In addition to her stunning vocal rang e\, Hulcher is also an accomplished bassist\, guitarist\, and songwriter. Her assortment of vocal influences includes the pop singers of her youth\, such as Sergio Franchi\, Ella Fitzgerald\, Perry Como\, Patti Page\, and Frank Sinatra.
\n\n The Gulf Coast Big Band is under the direction o f renowned jazz trumpeter\, Dan Miller. \; Originally from Chicago\, M iller has lived and worked in New York City since 1991. \; He spent 11 years as a member of the Harry Connick\, Jr. Orchestra\, traveling the wo rld and recording numerous albums and television specials. \; Miller h as also toured internationally and recorded with Wynton Marsalis\, Maynard Ferguson\, Tom Jones\, and Woody Herman. \; He performed with The Lin coln Center Jazz Orchestra\, The Lionel Hampton Orchestra\, The Duke Ellin gton Orchestra\, Curtis Fuller\, Branford Marsalis\, Randy Brecker\, Frank Foster\, Jon Hendricks\, George Coleman\, David "\;Fathead"\; New man\, Jack McDuff\, and Johnny McGriff. \; Miller has been designated a Yamaha Clinician and Performing Artist for his excellence in music.
\n The Gulf Coast Big Band is a non-profit organization that has been p erforming big band and jazz music in the Naples area for over twenty years . \; Concerts are free-of-charge with donations appreciated. \; Al l donations are earmarked for the Gulf Coast Big Band&rsquo\;s scholarship program. \; Since its inception\, the Band has awarded over $80\,000 in scholarships to local high school students to attend summer music camps . \;
