Big Week for Broadway, Locally

Southwest Florida venues are packed with big Broadway plays sure to please any theater buff.

BY April 2, 2014

If you somehow have yet to make it to the theater this season, this is the week to do it. You’ll have a hard time choosing just one performance, with four revered plays running from Naples to Sanibel. Ending Saturday evening are The Graduate—need we say more?—at the Laboratory Theater of Florida, and Romance/Romance, the tender Tony nominee of two one-act musicals combined, at BIG Arts. If you need your fix of Andrew Lloyd Weber, the ever-stunning true story of tragically ambitious Eva Perón has returned to Artis—Naples in Evita, playing through Sunday. Also through Sunday is the fun and fast Million Dollar Quartet—a tale of the one and only coming-together of legends Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presleyat Barbara B. Mann. So what’s it gonna be? bigarts.org, laboratorytheaterflorida.com, artisnaples.org, bbmannpah.com
