Don't Miss It: Naples Botanical Garden Grand Reopening

Prepare for new botanical brilliance starting tomorrow at 10 a.m.

BY October 22, 2014

Naples Botanical Garden was a world-class paradise already, but this month it emerges even more striking following a summer-long facelift. All your favorite mini-escapes return with the exception of the visitor center; a new environmentally friendly, 25,000-square-foot, boat-inspired facility and entry pavilion will offer more space for lectures, exhibits and events and include the Lurcat Catering-stocked Fogg Cafe. Not one but three new gardens were added as well: the canopied Kathryn’s Garden inspired by paintings by Henri Rousseau; Irma’s Garden of individually odd and charismatic standouts; and the LaGrippe Orchid Garden, which will rotate hundreds of species and feature some of the world’s smallest and largest varieties. The long-anticipated public reopening kicks off Thursday, Oct. 23, with a ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m. naplesgarden.org
